TikTok partnering with Teespring has been one of the top topics. Another game changer in the entertainment social industry. Thousands of TikTok creators have been using Teespring to sell merchandise to their followers, now they will be able to create merch right from the TikTok app.
This is an amazing addition for TikTok creators. For me, it is exciting news, because if you think back some months, there was a TikTok shutdown scare all over media, which had creators in a frenzy. There are still some kinks that are being worked out by Teespring as to which creators will have said feature and how the shop window would actually look.
At this time, TikTok states that there are only 7,000 creators that are testing the waters with about 180 different products to choose from. Now, what is really cool is the fact that there is an opportunity to create bespoke products that are unique to the creator. When they say "products," they take it to another level by having the ability to design skateboards and cell phone cases. This partnership is allowing creators to monetize on the content instead of just having the opportunity to become a brand partner. This can be beneficial for TikTok creators and Teespring. In the past 2 years, Teespring has paid out $80 Million in creator content. With TikTok having the success that it has, that $80 Million will likely double in know time with a partnership like this.
I believe that COVID-19 has placed restrictions on the world that no one was prepared for. I don't know if it was meant for us to find a new way of life when it comes to business. One thing that it has provoked is partnering with other company's to maximize new ways to hit their targeted population. A lot of businesses went bankrupt, on the verge of shutting down or closing stores in smaller cities. Adapting to change is hard, however, you can best believe that more partnerships are going to be happening. The Fortnite Travis Scott concert opened a lot of eyes and TikTok and Teespring have embarked on the same journey. The Entertainment Business will never be the same.
