Fun and interactive experience for fans to enjoy live stream events
What is the streaming service about?
Co-founders, Felicitas Betzl and Ruaridh Currie founded Rockifi, a new Scottish-based music streaming platform for fans of Heavy Music. Initially set up as a live music event, the business had to re-invent itself due to the pandemic. This service allows fans to stream live events, discover new artists, and have the opportunity to make donations for bands and workers who are affected by the coronavirus. Fans can interact even more and this is an important aspect of Rockifi, where they can connect before, during, and after a gig. The interaction that you make, will count and give direct feedback to the artist as they perform.
Which bands/artists have performed for Rockifi?
Slam Kings known as Ingested has already performed for Rockifi. Ingested is an English death metal band from Manchester, formed in 2006. They had announced, "Dominion" Live in Manchester, a live-streamed gig from an iconic venue, on Halloween day in 2020. They had performed their material from their 14-year catalog, which includes songs from the album, Where Only Gods May Tread.
What the co-founders have to say about Rockifi?
Mr. Currie (right of photo) mentioned that Rockifi focused on creating a community for like-minded fans that is lacking on other platforms such as Ticketmaster. The appetite for hard rock and heavy metal is "truly staggering," while fans will spend about four times more per month on music compared to other genres.
Rockifi is a two-way platform which also supports hard rock and heavy metal artists in getting their music out to an international community, including during this present time of pandemic-related challenges, Mr. Currie said
Ms. Betzl (center of photo) added:
While we are based in the UK, Rockifi will have a strong focus on Brazilian, North America and Scandinavian markets which contain the highest concentration of hard rock and heavy metal enthusiasts.
What is Rockifi looking for to expand their business?
The platform is looking for funding to hire new developers while creating two new marketing roles. Ms. Betzl said:
We are searching for further investment to help us roll out our longer-term global strategy which includes reaching fans and artists in their native languages within every key market.
They are planning to develop the Rockifi technology across other music genres, while exploring options to provide white labelling and licensing options for record labels, artist management agencies and festivals, went on to say Ms. Betzl.
