The entertainment industry has a wide range of creative individuals. We are able to see them all over Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms. However, not all of them get the recognition and/or attention that other mainstream artists get.
So, we are creating a blog series dedicated to those artists that have so much potential yet not a lot of people know about them.
Today's artist has 30.6k followers on Instagram and 360k subscribers on YouTube, yet when you go around and ask people about him, 2/10 know who he is.
Let's Begin.
BOY EPIC
Mathew Stallings, also known as Boy Epic, is a Texan singer/songwriter that caters to Alternative/Indie, Pop genres. By pairing expansive noir pop with dramatic visuals, he can attract a significant audience.
He rose to fame after uploading his cover videos of 'Say Something' by Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World, and 'Human' by Christina Perri, which each earned millions of views and are up next:
A few months later, he began releasing his own material in the form of a trilogy.

This was his very first trilogy. This talks about a love story that after the passion begins to fade and difficult times arise, everything gets put to the test.

After these trilogies, he continued to issue new music, including tracks inspired by movies like 50 Shades of Grey (50 Shades) and Suicide Squad (Scars).
His theatrical style and emotive delivery caught the attention of Hollywood Records, which signed him in 2016. Now, in preparation for his official debut, he began the slow release of the Boy Epic Chronicles, which is a series of visual appetizers for each track on the album.
He didn't officially release his name until 19 October 2018 when he released his single, 3 AM along with the music video which was both written and directed by himself.
Boy Epic likes to cater to everyone's musical needs, regardless of age or demographic, and aims to promote the idea that you should be comfortable with yourself as a person in his music.
Now, the question is:
How can an artist be unknown to the masses even when he possesses 30.6k followers on Instagram and 360k subscribers on YouTube?
