The Surfaces - Bringing Back the Beach Vibes for the End of 2020

Imagine this; it’s the summer of 2021. Corona is over, you’re back together with your friends, and it’s a beautiful Saturday night out on the beach. All your friends are there, your favorite food and drinks are being served, and then you hear on the speakers a new sound. A new band, a duo that’s been cranking out tunes of jazzy, soulful hip hop and pop fill your ears and bring you a sense of peace and euphoria. A perfect tune for a perfect day. The Surfaces bring the jams with their unique sounds and keeps a pep in everyone’s step when their songs come into rotation.

The Surfaces is an American music group originating out of College Station, Texas. The two members of the group, Forrest Frank and Colin Padelecki bring a creative and unique sound of jazz, soul, pop, hip hop, reggae, and calypso. These two bring a light fizzy pop to music with their positive vibes and tunes to keep the party going.

The band was formed in 2017 with their first album Surf being released a little while after Colin and Forrest first made contact. What followed was a musical blast of sunshine, ocean breeze, palm trees, mixed drinks, bright lights, and positives vibes as the duo began to rack up streams on Spotify with their song 24 / 7 / 365 having over 30 million streams. 2018 brought tracks Your Soul and Why Not Me which have over 20 million streams combined. 2019 brought the second album Where the Light Is with their song Sunday Best becoming a top 40 hit in multiple overseas countries and the U.S and then going on to gain more popularity through social media apps like TikTok and gaining over 270 million streams on Spotify. 2020 released their most current album Horizons and by this time, the duo has created a playlist of memorable tunes, and even gaining recognition on television and radio with shows like Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Lighthearted, jazzy, poppy, and giving off a good vibe, the Surfaces bring those positive emotions to the surface whenever you put on one of their songs. So, the next time Friday rolls around, instead of spending it in front of the computer, put on Horizons, grill some turkey burgers, and share some drinks with good company. Good vibes require good people and good music. Surface aims to deliver just that.
