Selena Gomez released 'De Una Vez' as the lead single from her upcoming fourth studio album. The song dropped on January 14th, 2021, and has since sent her fanbase into a frenzy.

De Una Vez, meaning At Once, was just her second solo Spanish single. Her last one was nearly a decade ago. She said in a statement that "It felt empowering to sing in Spanish again, and De Una Vez is such a beautiful anthem."

The music video embodies her growth as she sings about her growing pains walking through a mystical house.

This song showcases Selena's spiritual growth. Selena says “[It’s] such a beautiful song, and I think it has a powerful meaning behind it for anyone who has had their heartbroken." This song resonates with everyone, no matter the language you speak. As the song plays, you can hear the emotional journey that Gomez has gone on, and she inspires others to heal. The goal of any artist is to share their message and experiences, some of which are painful. But these types of records can help listeners heal from the past and enter a new chapter into their life.

Being voted as one of the 100 most influential people of 2020 by TIME Magazine, there is no better person to inspire a mass amount of people. Her lyrics are truly empowering. During the chorus, she sings,

"Once and for all, ah-ah-ah
I'm stronger alone, ah-ah-ah
I don't regret the past
I know the time by your side cut my wings
But now this chest is bulletproof."

You can tell she is trying to get those in need of healing from their past.
