My Orlando WorldScout Expo Experience

Written by Beka Bishop

WorldScout and Rap Plug held an event from February 7-9, 2020. My team and I were asked to help Rap Plug with the Media Team. We later realized we WERE the Media Team. This brought so many amazing experiences for myself and the team! I had the honor of running the Instagram media on the 7th and 8th. I was able to network with local artists, well-known artists, music business professionals, and even with the CEOs of WorldScout.

Friday evening we worked the Red Carpet, where I had the opportunity to interview every person who stepped foot on the Red Carpet. I was terrified at first, but this really helped develop my communication skills and my overall public speaking skills. I was able to learn so much from each individual, specifically why they felt that this expo was important to attend.

Saturday evening, I was able to interview Mike Zombie, Yady, and many Music Business professionals. This experience was life-changing for me. I realized that I have a passion for interviewing artists and I hope to use this skill in my future career! I know I have much to improve on, but I am looking forward to more opportunities like this one to develop my skills and network with professionals in the industry!

I am so thankful for my team, WorldScout, and Rap Plug for this incredible experience!

Shanequa Bernard, a former 3300+Climbing coordinator, really deserves a shoutout for everything she has done and is still doing for 3300+Climbing. Nequa was able to get us connected with Rap Plug and that allowed us to be the media coverage team for this event. Without her, none of these amazing stories would have been made. Thank you Nequa!
