League of Legends is back at it again with a new music video for the World Championship!
Today we're going to be reviewing the League of Legends Music Video "Take Over" and let's just say that it's a very fitting music video for the video game. The song in the music video features Jeremy McKinnon (A Day To Remember), MAX, and HenryI. t is an animated music video done by the same studio that animated a few of GORILLAZ's music videos and they've also done a Porter Robinson Video.
The music video starts off with the character shown above being given a chip by a hooded stranger who is known as LoL's biggest name Lee, "Faker" Sang-Hyeok. He goes and puts it into a computer terminal and it projects him into a video game setting where he is quickly defeated by someone in the game. He looks defeated in his gaming chair before the hooded stranger hands him the chip again and urges him to continue on. The music video is fast paced and goes along well with the lyrics. Throughout the animation, our main character goes through many challenges, facing one player after the next and not always winning against them at first. While he loses quite often, he doesn't quit and continues to put himself back into those situations but this time, doing it smarter and winning. All the while, he picks up all the weapons of those that are defeated to help him with his next task. It shows the hooded mentor watching him on a twitch stream as he continues to do well for himself and his mentor smiles as he watches him progress. When he finally gets to the end of the game, he faces his mentor in a hand to hand combat to show how far he's come and when he defeats his mentor, he's found at the championship where he finds another girl that has fought her way to the top. The video ends with both of them running towards the championship trophy.
Overall, the music video went well with the upbeat song done by the singers. It showed the main character not giving up to adversary like Faker had done in the past and it is a great music video to represent the League of Legends Championship. I enjoyed it greatly and for those who enjoy playing video games, this music video will definitely be something that you'll want to watch all the way through as the animation is great and the story is something that we can all relate to whether we play competitively or not.
The music video is currently sitting at almost 18 million views already and debuted on September 17th. Overall, even if you aren't a gamer and have no interest in League of Legends, this music video is definitely something you'll want to check out!
