3300+ Climbing Members Show off Creative Content Knowledge

Everyone knows 3300+ Climbing is an artist development initiative -- but did you know that we’re also an incredibly creative group of students? We spent one week in August showing off our creative content knowledge and showing viewers how to create anything from a video meme to a freeze-frame.

Monday - We started the week off with a really fun tutorial for Adobe Spark. Adobe Spark is an incredibly creative and customizable program. We showed how to create a simple moving graphic for Instagram, focusing on how and why to change colors, images, and text to get your message across in a helpful, meaningful, eye-catching way!

Tuesday - If you’ve ever scrolled through a list of videos on YouTube, you know that their thumbnail images are generally not just stills from their videos. The thumbnail of a video needs to be eye-catching and creative, and in this video, we’ll show you how to create something amazing in Photoshop. We’ll go over the dimensions needed for a thumbnail (so YouTube doesn’t shrink, stretch, or distort the image you create), how to choose an image, and all of the basic creative adjustments needed to make your YouTube thumbnail bring in the views!

Wednesday - Looking for quick, easy content to get your music out there? Look no further than Distrokid’s Meme Generator. In this video, we’ll show you how to take a silly clip from Distrokid’s website, attach your music to it, and make a funny meme you can share with your fans!

Thursday - Using a photo of the infamous Diagon Alley (from Harry Potter), we’ll show you how to use the Afterlight app to create something brand new out of an existing picture. The Afterlight app offers a variety of editing options, and each one brings something different out of your image. We’ll play around with brightness, contrast, vibrance, overlays, and more to turn a bright image into a dark, foreboding scene.

Friday - Wondering how content creators freeze one section of their video and then seamlessly continue without any sort of jumpy transitions? We can show you how! In this video, we’ll show you how simple it is to take a video you’ve created and insert a freeze-frame for dramatic effect! It’s way easier than you think!

Saturday - Much like our Afterlight tutorial, this video will show you how to use Adobe Lightroom to edit your photos and turn them into something new. We’ll dive into all of the different creative options available in the app, with lots of details on highlights, shadows, and making your photos pop! You can combine your new knowledge on the effects of Afterlight with the information in our second Afterlight video, which details every single keyboard shortcut in the program and what each command means and how it will be used. Get creating!

Sunday - We wrapped up our Creative Content week by summarizing how you can put it all together. What good is creative content advice if you don’t know what type of content you’re creating? In this video, we’ll tell you what questions you should be asking yourself before you even start creating content. Are you posting informative content, or entertaining content? Or both! Are you posting quality content consistently? Check out this video for a checklist of questions you can ask yourself to make sure you’re making the most of your content and social media!
